Sentinel is an open-source dVPN protocol that repersents the first scalable framework that allows dVPNs to utilize shared resources thus reducing the overall network carbon footprint. It is true that Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are commonly used to stay private online but most of the popular VPNs are centralized and at risk of compromising user data because they still store data in one place. This is not the case with Sentinel. Sentinel’s dVPN is transparently designed to allow anyone to share and use shared bandwidth in a decentralized manner without storing any data. This makes Sentinel’s dVPN probably private.
It is no news that the goal of the Sentinel ecosystem is to decentralize the VPN industry and introduce the ‘dVPN’ to the ever increasing plethora of mainstream consumers. They however feel that this goal will most likely not be achieved by launching and maintaining a single consumer facing application (the Sentinel dVPN), rather, by establishing, first of all, and then developing upon a structured framework that would then be used to create a network of independently operated decentralized VPNs.
There’s a total supply of 10,564,208,857 DVPN and a market cap of $211,793,312 which is quite low, still with enough room to pump. There is a circulating supply of 4,719,283,181 DVPN and the network is built on the dPoS consensus protocol.
