Helix — The New Paradigm for DeFi
With the listing of TALIS few days ago and the whole Injective ecosystem doing wonders, it's fair to say that we have a top DEX on our hands.
The premier decentralized crypto exchange, built on the Injective ecosystem. Recently, we saw Pre-Launch Futures for Pyth Network's $PYTH on Helix heralding one of the first times (if not the first) that we have seen tokens available for trading even before they are launched. Then came the hype around $TIA and Helix wasn't to be left out.
When we go a few months back, when $ARB was also listed for trading on the exchange. These all point to a DEX that's set out to be a go-to space for spot, margin and perpetuals.
Let's take a look at some of the reasons why I love Helix for my trades.
Cross-chain compatibility
Helix makes it easier for users to trade assets between different blockchain networks by facilitating cross-chain trading. With the integrations by Injective with other blockchains, this is very possible. Some of the notable ones are the Wormhole and Cascade integrations. Because of this interoperability, there are more assets available for trade, which lowers barriers and facilitates smooth transactions between various blockchains. Now you know why we could see Solana and Arbitrum tokens like $PYTH and $ARB respectively.
Decentralization and Security
Helix, at its core, is a decentralized exchange (DEX), meaning that transactions are trustless because it functions without a central authority. This ensures that there is no single point of failure. It also implies something else. By allowing users to keep custody of their funds during the trading process, centralized exchange risks—like hacking or custodial accidents—are reduced. Now that's more like explaining the single point of failure. This ensures safety of assets during trades. Now you know why Helix is my go-to place for safe trades.
Non-custodial trading
Helix maintains a non-custodial trading model, meaning users have control over their funds at all times. Emphasis on 'all times'. By utilizing smart contracts and decentralized protocols, assets are never held by the exchange, reducing the risk of theft or loss. So enjoy your trades, Ninjas.
High throughput
Helix's architecture is designed for high-speed and high-throughput trading. It leverages the advantages of Injective's infrastructure to achieve fast transaction speeds, significantly reducing latency and enabling a seamless trading experience even during times of high network congestion. Not only do your transactions get finalized in record time (or no time at all), you also get to pay next to zero as gas fees for those transactions. Now you understand why the total trading volume is increasing and more and more users are trooping in to Helix.
Advanced order types
Unlike most decentralized exchanges that make use of the automated market maker model, Helix makes use of the orderbook model.
Helix supports various order types, including limit orders, stop orders, and advanced trading strategies. This feature allows traders to implement sophisticated trading strategies with precision and control over their trades. You can never go wrong on Helix.
Scalability
Injective is always looking for new ways to improve the scalability of its blockchain. Helix can therefore continue to be flexible and develop to satisfy the shifting needs of the DeFi environment, guaranteeing a state-of-the-art trading experience. When you can accommodate more users without breaking a sweat, you would definitely win.
Governance
Helix is built with community governance in mind. With governance tokens, users are able to take part in decision-making processes related to protocol improvements and fee structures. This democratic method encourages decentralization and community involvement.
It's fair to say that I'm more than excited about the prospects on Helix.
